ABOUT
About Us
Green Streets was originally started in 2010 behind San Francisco’s Zero Waste Initiative and an innovative approach to environment, job creation , and redemption . Getting our start in the city Hayes Valley neighborhood we created waste diversion solutions in an environment where waste was the last thing on residents mind . Low income housing needed an improvement and Green Streets became that answer . Our work force are residents at the developments where employment opportunities presented themselves. This allowed for an innovative approach to job creation hiring directly from the environment we were servicing . This gave Green Streets a unique perspective in dealing with waste diversion in the city . Creating a eco system that , created savings for the development we were servicing , creating employment for residents where they lived , creating a solution to a citywide issue . With our team members taking pride in their communities it opened up opportunities for Green Streets to make even more of a community impact .

OUR PARTNERS

We have since been involved with various partnerships that have helped build peace , growth, and innovation to our neighborhoods in the city. Green Streets partnered with SF Park and Rec , and others such as AAACC (African American Arts and Culture Complex) & Trust For Public Land to participate in the development of a project titled “ New Buchanan Mall “ a 5 block project that will recreate the landscape in community based off of feedback by the residents in this space . We also partnered with DJDS (Design Justice Design Spaces) to lead the Operation Team on the “ Pop Up Resource Village “ bringing forth job opportunities for local residents. Lastly , We collaborated with Radiance Church to create “ Fillmore Square “ a culinary cohort created to bring opportunity forth for those interested in advancing their culinary dreams . These collaborations show the understanding and importance of cultivation within community and Green Streets flexibility around those ideas .
